Advanced Drone Controller module with Collision Avoidance System
HELLENIC INSTRUMENTS develops a sophisticated drone controller module which autonomously senses obstacles and avoid collisions during drone missions using optimal sensors and intelligent software. Drone obstacle avoidance is highly contextual and requires intelligent algorithms and well-designed workflows implemented in robust software that augments best-in-class sensor hardware.
The drone controller is integrated with depth estimation algorithms combined with control algorithms to achieve desired collision avoidance using image and RF sensors.
The collision avoidance of quadcopters is achieved mainly by using relative attitude and position control
with cascade PID controller. A PID system uses a feedback loop which continuously calculates an “error value” as the difference between a measured process variable and the desired setpoint.
